Thanks, tough decision since I lived here since my momma pushed me out of the womb- but you gotta do whatcha wanna do. TN will be the place (90% sure). I just have to make a follow-up relocation trip to Dallas TX next month to make sure I want to rule it out before wrapping up business and calling the movers.

Funny, it's not the crime issue in NYC driving me out, I'm pretty indifferent to it. I'm also guilty of being nostalgic about the "old days" when kids would chase each other around the school yard with the dirty needles the heroin addicts left behind.

Most people say "since I was born"...but you say "since your momma pushed you out of the womb"....sounds like a hard life since you got evicted from the womb. It's probably long overdue that you left NY...hopefully not to Memphis.

Tennessee had hot chicks who like to have fun, that's the only benefit I would move for. Prospects of settling down.

Hey, some would say 9 months rent free in a womb is a great rental deal while you can get it, but it was getting cramped in there.

I've been itching to leave for a long time, I don't enjoy living here anymore. But no, I'm not moving to Memphis- but I hear the BBQ is very good there so I may check out some smoked meat delights.

Ahh KK, there are VERY nice places in TN that put NYC to shame in a lot of ways. I'll be moving to Williamson County (in the top 20 high wealth counties in the country) which looks more like this:

Williamson county is where a lot of music moguls make their home, and it's far from tin shack Ghetto. Williamson is to Nashville what Westchester is to NYC. There is so many wonderful places in the world west of the Hudson, the more I travel the more I realize how crummy NYC can be.

There's more perks then that, especially in Williamson county:
- you can pack heat
- No state tax, no city tax
- low real estate tax
- good public schools where your kids won't get knifed
- roads in excellent condition, good highway system
- city planning and zoning is something that is cared about, so the place doesn't look fugly
- If you love music there's plenty of venues for entertainment
- lots of places to shop
- the arts is alive and well in Williamson- fine arts, theater, music, etc...
- for 350k you can have a house custom built on an acre of land, meanwhile 500k in Manhattan won't buy you a closet
- People are outwardly nice for a change

Now, sure you'd need a car because public transportation is a joke- but in my experience public transit doesn't save me time in NYC anyway because it's so crowded and broken down in the first place. Not to mention the tax savings alone in TN more than compensate for the expenses of carrying 2 cars.
