Default 6 train safe in the Bronx?

Does anyone ride the 6 train here? Is the 6 train safe in the Bronx? I'm 5' 5" and 120 lbs and have an internship in New Rochelle I have to get to. I will be coming back at night time.

Is the last subway stop on the 6 train by Pelham Bay safe at night?

Thank you.

I think it is as safe as any train in the city. The last stop, Pelham Bay, always has people around so you are never really alone. I am sure you will be fine.

The Pelham Bay area, including the 6 train stop,is quite safe, safer than most of the city as a matter of fact.

Why does everyone forget ( or are in denial about) the fact that all 10 of the highest crime subway stations in the city are all in Manhattan ? The subway station with the highest number of crimes per passenger 34th St Penn Station.Union Sq,23rd St,W 4th St, 86th St( Lex) and 42nd st are all in the top 10.

Some perv showed his junk to a passenger on the 6 train recently but that seems to happen a lot of places and I wouldn't classify it as a safety issue.Just annoying( or entertaining) depending on your perspective.

I meant more so based on the amount of people going through those stations on a daily basis.

I would imagine those train stops in NYC would be like a feeding frenzy w/ the crush of tourists, idiots who want to pull a laptop out on the train, and just the unaware...

to the OP - most trains have the "same" amount of safety, which is pretty high for so many people who ride them - just don't fall asleep on the train, keep valuables out of sight and don't sit close to the door.

I used to work overnight, and would sit by the conductor. My theory being, I would hope he/she would call the cops if anything happened to me, rather than my body ride the trains in the last car till we hit the final stop.

The Bronx is not as bad as its rep - yes people will try and tell you it is, but you should be fine if you take care, and be aware.
