The on campus school. the great and grand meals from the kitchen, the infirmary- the stickball competitions. The channel two- softball games-remember jim jensen- he passed away several years back..just let me know what i can do..oh- the gym, the basketball games, the basketball teams- the cheerleaders, the softball games against the other homes. Yeah- then there were the girls- the prettiest and niciest people in the world. so much fun and so much love. I always think of that place. I have visited the site several times.. they knocked some buildings down, and really fenced it up for the ucp.- a great cause. anyways...you can count on me. carlos a. gutierrez- the sports fanatic of the kennedy home.
I remember you. We were in school together. Others from Kennedy home that came to PS 17- Debbie Flick, Joyce Hicks, Angel Vargas...

Hi All, I started living at the Kennedy home in 1965 I Remember a bunch a great stuff that stays with me and so not so great stuff. First we had to earn our money make those beds hospital style you could bounce a dime on the, then the buffing machines cleaning the floors. Dodge ball and plenty of activities. I was on the swimming team. I lived in the main cottage then as I grew up Hayes cottage. I was a alter boy. Do any of you remember when we had a city wide black out and they gave us kids small flashlights? Or going to visit Mount Loretta? Some sad stuff is when my good friend at the time Joseph Cortez passed away from cancer. We became friends when we’re both in the infirmary. How about Mr Best he was always pleasant.or mr.Germano with his singing stick as he called it when the boys misbehaved...I remember going on a field trip to a big bank function and singing Christmas carols for big donors we all got a wallet and 10 dollars. Or the time we met the New York Mets Tug McGraw stands out. So many memories and most were good especially I was in children’s shelter in Harlem prior. The shelter was hell the Kennedy home was heaven compared to it.

I never was a resident of the home, however I do remember visiting her there on several occasions when I was younger. The problem I have is that I do not remember her name, she was born with the last name of White or Sullivan in New York City 1n the late 1800's.

I do know that she went on to become the head of the order to which she belonged, I believe she was given the title of "Provincial".

If anyone can remember her name, the name of the order to which she was a member or any information it would be very helpful.

My last contact with her was in about the summer 1962 at the Kennedy Home. I would have to believe that she is no longer living, therefore this is not about contacting her but about identifying her and her relationship to our family.

Sincerely,

Peter White
