thor1loki,
I realize its a mute point, but Kennedy Home's address was 1770 Stillwell Ave. You were probably thinking of the bi-centenial year of 1976, and somehow got 1976 (date of your departure) mixed up with 1770. All the Best.

Thanks for the reply 250 South Street. And yes, it seems when you left in '68, I was just coming in. Honestly, my memories of St. Joe's are almost all pleasant. I was treated well by the counselors and nuns. Had loads of fun practically every day, especially on the weekends and during the summer months and had tons of friends. I would love to hear from anyone else who was there anytime from '68-'73. Please post pics if you have them.

God Bless.

Thumbs up Hello again

Hey Curdog. Got your pics of your son and you but was laid up. Was pretty sick for awhile. Anyhow, nice family photos of you guys. Your looking good for a mean 56-57 yr. old. Hey homie67, you have got total recall of all the names you mentioned. I also recall most of them. You ever go to any of the reunions that were held in Pelham Bay Park? I was surprised to see some homies married to each other there. Pretty cool!

Hello Bronxboy, as well as hello again to Curdog. I'm very pleased to have reconnected with folks from those memorable times. Curdog and I have started a dialog on line. I'd be happy to do the same for you and any others. As for reunions, I went to one many years ago (1994). It was conducted on the ground of the former Kennedy Home. That was almost 14 years ago. Time sure is flying by.. I'm currently working in Italy, but am expected back in the States at years end. I would like very much make another reunion. For your info, I am in contact with the former sister known as "Sister Dolorita".

Default Hello from another Kennedy Alum

Hi all,

I was at Kennedy for a couple of months (May, June of 1974).

My only recollection of any one in particular was a particularly gregarious kid named Greg. We were both 13 at the time, so we would have been in whatever cottage it was that held the 13 year olds.

(I can't believe how much of that experience I have forgotten).
