hello
ty for the reply home. i was very young when i was placed in the home along with my brother jimmy and sister donna our last name was froehle. i entered the home shortly after my 6th bday the names of many allure me. my fondest memory was i believe in 1964 when jackie and robert kennedy along with the pope came to visit the kennedy home. i was chosen to present a gift to jackie. does any1 remember this occassion. many ppl were present cameras were flashing away yet i can not find any info or pics of this time on any web site or documentation. how i recall as if it was yesterday standing on the milk crate during lunch/dinner taking turns singing. the plays that we put on singing its a small world. the dresses the nuns made ech easter for us. one memory was after i came back from a brief visit with my mom. that nite i wet my bed, sister told me to folllow her into her room. well i knew well what happened then the paddle was coming lol lol. she told me behind closed door we will only pretend to spank you lol lol she smacked the paddle on her hand and i yelled out in pain,we orchestrated it perfectly. i realize why now she needed to continue her authority over us and did not want the other kids to think they would get way with anything without the punishment of the paddle lol lol lol. memories how dear they are to us yet at the same time we fear them, ty all for this great site . nancy

Hi Nancy, I remember this to be at St.Joe's. It was either late afternoon or evening, we all gather out front of the main road, I still see the American Flags on front of the cars that came around. I can still see the Pope waving his hand. Bless to all

Hi again Margie, I enter kennedy in Oct. of 1961 for about only one month, then transfer to St. Joe's in Nov. I was 6 years old. My last Group Mother was Sister Francis Marie who as of now I still keep in touch with. I was 12 years old when I went to live with my father and stepmom in 1967. Not very happy teens years with them, there were times I wish that I had stay at St. Joe's till I was 18. I have very good memories of St. Joe's. Keep in touch
Joanne

the day the pope came to visit
ty all that replied margie i do recall your name concepcion that name surely rings a bell . and i too wish at times i stayed in the home until i was 18 or adopted . i do remember going home with a family that were interested in adopting me for the weekend of thanksgiving one yr but nothing became of it my guess it was because my mom decided to take us home when she remarried. does any1 remember going home with famlies for brief times also has any1 seen any info or kno where i can find info in regards to the popes trip to the home back in the 60s when he came and visited us. you would think in some archives it would be somewhere. it would have been big news back then i would think, ty all again this is a great site a god send for me never imagined i would meet up with others from the kennedy home thought it was gone forever.
