someone was shot recently at the corner store at 120th and pleasant. you also see people conducting shady business on the pay phone..its less busy and out of the way which is why its seemingly more pleasant... particularly when people are coming from other neighborhoods to shop at the mall...but as long as your not a real part of the neighborhood then i guess you'd be okay living there... just cab it back and forth

i too go to the pleasant ave mall, have a friend that lives on pleasant but is moving out because of the things she sees out her window

How is the block on E 102nd St between Park & Lexington ? I mean safety wise, ethnicities, level of income...

that census tract is: 62% hispanic, 18% black, 13% white, 5% asian, 1% other (Mapping America ? Census Bureau 2005-9 American Community Survey - NYTimes.com)

$21,480 is the median income for the whole neighborhood, which is enough in most of the united states but not nearly enough in NYC

it seems just like any other area in the neighborhood when i'm at the 103 st subway station. nothing strikingly different. spanish harlem is spanish harlem
