If you could list them and how much they are each month that would be great! Thanks so much for the help:-)

Are you looking for average costs? Everyone is pretty unique so you won't find a standard answer.... I'll give you some rough numbers

Rent - not saying
Utilities - ~$150/month
Food/Groceries - ~$600/month (2 people)
Metrocard - $104/month
Cable/Internet - ~$100/month
Cell phones (2) - ~$150/month
Miscellaneous - anywhere from $0 to $1000

Not going to be specific about rent, but more than $2k for my 1 bedroom.

Other general expenses:
Utilities - $50-75 (A bit more when the A/C is on in the summer.)
Food/Groceries - $300 (For two. Doesn't include dining out which would be probably an additional $1k per month, just groceries at home.)
Internet - $50 (No cable.)

Obviously still a lot more expenses to account for: cell phones, pet care, transportation (neither of us have/need unlimited MetroCards, so not nearly as much as most people), laundry/dry cleaning ($50 or so?), etc.

Why? My bills would have no bearing on yours.

But the thing is that there are so many possible lifestyles one could have that it's hard to get a good estimate. Where you live and the size of your apartment determines your rent, and then food is determined by how much you eat out vs. buying from the supermarket (and even then, looking for sales an buying in bulk affects the price of groceries, as well as where you shop). Transportation depends on where you live (do you need a car in your neighborhood?) and what your habits are (are you always in a rush, so you need to call taxis, or will you stick with the bus/subway?)

Then there are things like cable, going out to eat, and other expenses that again, vary between people and households.
