I received a $100 ticket for jumping a MTA turnstile. The officer who took down my information misspelled my name on the ticket, wrote down my phone number incorrectly, and did not write down my full address. In fact, most of the information he recorded on my copy of the ticket is incorrect as that I did not have an ID with me at the time and he took my information down verbatim. Will a warrant be put out if I do not pay this ticket? Or can I forget about it since they have no way of finding me?

I am surprised he did not take you in for not having an I.D.

How about paying the fare, Like the rest of most of us? You sound like one of those folks that board the bus through the back without paying an already crowded bus and then not giving up a seat to the elderly/disabled. Man/woman up and pay the fine. This country was built on integrity and honor.

Absent name, address, and phone number I don't see how they will catch up with you.

How about stopping the behavior before you get caught again, or worse, catch your foot and come down face first breaking both wrists?

With a screen name of "fareevasion" I don't think he/she will.

On the other hand, he/she will probably jump some more turnstiles...and one of those times, the arresting officer will be more careful in writing the ticket.

Not that this person needs defending, but the screen name is logical and straightforward. They had one greasy question to ask, and obviously won't be using that name to sign in again.

Kind of a dumb and obvious question, though.
