we are coming to a game in the Bronx and will be staying between Knickerbocker and Morgan there in Bushwick. How safe is this area including the L train and E train that will lead us into the Bronx?

You are going to have problems if you try to take the E train to The Bronx... (you will want to take the uptown 4 at Union Square if it's Yankee Stadium)

Henna hada great post in another thread. It's not just a safety issue, it's also a quality of life issue. Chances are you'll be relatively safe but chances also are that you'll get sick of the litter, noise, poverty, hustlers pretty quickly. These are things few people in your position are likely to enjoy.

It's a tough commute from LI (although many city teachers live out here and carpool to Bklyn/Queens) . Don't know if that's the case here, but it seems like gentrification is causing more people to look in "fringe" areas now...
The "fringe"??? I thought those were bangs......

But any who you can't put a price in your safety.....if you feel unsafe livin in a hood area by all mean stay out it

Too many hobbits moving into Orc territory will cause a problem, especially when hobbits begin to dare venture deeper. You will eventually, one day, be eaten and looted.

Your best bet is to feel it out at diff hours of the day on your own. It pretty much goes block by block. As someone said above, the L line is safer, but the closer to junction the crappier it is. Mostly if you mind your business, and can handle yourself no one bothers you.
