From what I'm gathering so far, maybe I'm better suited for Weehawken or Hoboken. I knew Manhattan and was a tough nut, but wowza!...
Are y'all sure I can't find a subterranean hovel somewhere in the city with this lil'-ole-paltry salary of mine?! -- with enough square footage for me to sleep laying down?
Perhaps I might find another millionaire like myself and we could go in halvzies -- would that get the job done? Might we be broaching the low end of dignified living at that point?

Look into shares--someone might rent you their closet. If you're lucky, it might even be a walk-in.

Don't forget the crack smoking contact high tax. You pretty much end up 50 dollars in the hole after that one.

I *think* there are a few tenements in Tribeca where celebrities share studios, like 6 per every 100 square feet. You might be able to find some roomspace there, but from what I've heard, it's hellishly cramped (that's the real reason why they're all so thin. Remember the good old days when NY was less expensive and our celebrities were plumper? Those were the days.)
Good luck!
