Default Mets tickets

Hi! It's been a long time since I've posted on here. You folks gave me some excellent advice the last time I visited NYC a couple of years ago. Anyway I've been saving my pennies and I'm back over for a week in early April.

The last time I visited I went to see the Yankees play. This time it coincides with the Mets being at home. Could you give me any advice on how to get tickets? I'm only really there for the experience so although I would like some half decent seats I'm not that bothered. I just want a pleasant view of the game and to take in the atmosphere, but obviously don't want to pay too much if I can help it! I got my Yankees tickets from a shop in Manhattan and paid about $65 if I recall correctly. Do the Mets have similar outlets? Is it better to get tickets in advance or perhaps just pay on the day at the stadium?

Cheers guys.

I would get tickets in advance, but with the Mets you can usually buy the day of the game for most the teams they play. I enjoyed sitting in the lower part of the upper deck just into the outfield area, which gave a great view of the game for a much better price. Also, there is a really cool view of Manhattan from the upper concourse as well.

The Mets are going to be terrible next year so you can with either way. Unless they are playing the yankees. I would just order directly from the mets online.

Last year I paid $15 for a Mets ticket. They are cheap because they suck. The stadium is very nice though, and the food is great!

You can check out stubhub as well if you don't want to buy directly from the Mets online.

Ive been to see the Mets quite a few times. I used to get tickets off the official website (usually on sale for single tickets some time in March for the coming season) but now always buy off Stubhub. It's a MLB endorsed site that allows people to sell their tickets, and theyre usually, for the Mets, below face value. Juts sign up and always go for electronic delivery, you then print the tickets at home and theres no messing around collecting tickets etc when you're there.

What game you going to?

Fantastic advice Chris, thanks!

We are there 4 - 11 April so any game during that time. I noticed that the Yankees and Mets are playing each other on 4 April but unfortunately we won't be there in time for the game. That's a shame because I would have loved to see that one!

Ok mate well that early in the season be a bit careful, as people selling on stub hub wont get their tickets until a couple of weeks before you go, so to be on the safe side i'd buy off the mets website - stubhub is all guaranteed so am sure you'd get the tickets in time to print etc i just like to make doubly sure.

That Yankees v Mets game is in Spring Training (like pre season friendlies) so will take place in Florida (all MLB teams have a base in Arizona or Florida i think) so you wouldnt make that anyway

Opening day (5th) theyre playing the Braves, bit of rilvary there, that'd be a good day to attend - but its an afternoon start so would take a big chunk out your day, similarly with the games on 7th and 8th. You may be better off with evening games against the Nationals on 9th, 10th and 11th.
