I am planning on visiting Brooklyn this weekend to see about moving there in the next couple months. I have only visited a few times so I am unfimiliar with the neighborhoods. Can anyone suggest safe neighborhoods to live. I am looking for a one bedroom and my budget is $1100 a month. I can also do a studio.

I plan to walk around the areas this weekend to actually see what the areas are like.

For your budget look in: Bay Ridge (studio most likely), Fort hamilton Pkwy area, Dyker heights, Bensonhursts (sic?) and Sheepshead bay.

I agree with this. Also Gravesend has a lot of private homes with rentals. Sheepshead is nice, Esp in the warmer months.
