Moved to Central Florida 20 years ago and never quite liked it, always missing NYC. Seriously thinking of moving family back to city but don't know where to go. Need a great family neighborhood w/lots of culture and good schools. Any thoughts?

you got a job in NYC already?
will you be renting or buying? what's your budget?

and for good schools in NYC you either need to pay for private, live in a affluent zip code, or move to the suburbs.

Jobs will be in Long Island. We need a 3 bedroom but I wouldn't even know what to budget for that. What should I expect to pay 3 bedrooms in, let's say Queens/Brooklyn? We could be set up in LI in a minute, but want the kids to experience urban living (at least for a while). Looking for diversity and culture.

a 3-br apt in Queens or Brooklyn can go from 1,800 to 8k depending on the neighborhood.

IMO, unless you live in a nice area close to a park, the urban life for kids sucks in NYC. But hey, to each its own.
