My soundtrack is all over the place!

New York, New York - Frank Sinatra

I'm in a New York State of Mind - Billy Joel

Empire State of Mind - love both versions. Jay-Z is great, and I think the slower Alicia Keyes version is so moving

Barbara Streisand - by Duck Sauce

This is THE soundtrack to New York. 'Across 110th Street' by Bobby Womack. I loved the film when I saw it a couple of years ago too. The original set in Harlem in the 70's that is, not Quentin tarantino's 'Jackie Brown'.

Fairytale Of New York-Pogues
No need to show this one, bit too late (or early) for Christmas. But Christmas wouldn't be the same without this classic with Shane McGowan and the beautiful voice of Kirsty Mcall.

Nas is a great suggestion from a previous poster. My favourite Nas track is also from his first album Illmatic. 'Ain't Hard To Tell'.

Sure there are many, many more but these are the ones that sprang to mind off the cuff.
