Excuse me, what? Where do you get your information? All of the Scandinavian countries topped the Index of Happiest Countries on Earth (also named the top of the Prosperity Index) compiled by that bastion of socialism, Forbes:
The World's Happiest Countries - Forbes.com

And as a former resident of several countries in "Europe", I can tell you that in general, Europeans are very happy, prosperous, with an excellent quality of life.

The OCCUPY movement is alive and well despite being ignored in the Capitalist media. It is just more apparent in WARMER parts of the country.
Take Oakland:
Occupy OaklandOccupy Oakland

Come Spring look for a BIG resurgence of OWS in New York City. It will be FAR bigger than 2011, especially because of all the endless media blathering by right wing politicians this election year.

Nobody ever said that socialists and freedom fighters had to FREEZE for their cause.

Weather is a totally lame excuse. If OWS thinks 30F weather is a legitimate reason to suspend protesting what is allegedly a critical issue, then how do they explain the Russian protesters who are out there in 3F weather? I think the answer is that OWS never had any real reason for existing in the first place. It was just a bunch of bored Americans playing "Arab Spring," but now it's over.

EDIT: a picture from Moscow (note the snow). I'd like to see OWS pull this off:

So they're just tougher? Americans are weak? That's what you're going with?

It's amusing how the Western media can portray ANY protest against "other" regimes but when any leftist protest, no matter how huge, is against the U.S. system, mum's the word until it CANNOT be ignored any more.

Compare with the coverage of the Tea Party when any hourlong gathering of 2 dozen people (who left their KKK sheets at home) which got intense coverage every night on all the media.

So now we must listen ad nauseum about demonstrations in Russia, in Syria, in Egypt against "repressive regimes." I guess it is a given that repression CANNOT exist here, or at least it must not be reported on here.

Poor Oakland police are so understaffed that when they put all their staff to work harassimg Occupy Oakland they are forced to ignore murders going on in other parts of town. Dear, dear!

I welcome OWS back to New York in huge numbers when Spring arrives, well rested and ready to go. THe oppression by the 1% will still be apparent bcasue the 1% has gotten richer over the Winter. And neither the issues (complete economic and political control by a handful of the super-elite) nor the protesters are going away any time soon.

Nobody's saying that it cannot exist here, just that repression on that scale does not exist here.

People are getting tired of OWS's constant comparing of themselves to people who need a change in their system far more than you do in ours. The fact that you put "repressive regimes" in quotes when referring to Russia, Syria, and Egypt is a perfect example of that kind of naivety.
