Don't know about how good or bad it is but as far as I know, it's the only school in the area that offers Fire Science.

John Jay is one of those schools I've heard a lot of mixed word of mouth about. People either seem to love it or hate it for whatever reason. It does seem to fill a lot of specific niche fields though.

Same thing with any CUNY school. There's people that love them, and people that hate them.

Sometimes they can be a bit to easy to get into from what I've heard. Not the case with the graduate programs. They are top notch.

You gotta understand as an undergrad at Cuny schools its ALWAYS going to be a love hate thing. One thing you'll learn to hate is ESIMS, especially when they give your registration appointment and it seems like everyone in the school is trying to get online and the computers go down...you'll hate that for sure.

Its very difficult/selective to get in certain Cuny grad programs.
