Why don't you take the E home? I'm pretty sure it runs at night. Are you worried about your safety or something?

but seriously. i walk down the street after dinner and i can smell the fresh flowers in people's front yards, and all i can hear is crickets. sometimes i cant believe i'm in the middle of queens. the express train will get you into midtown as fast as an astoria subway can. only negative is the 2am cab ride home that costs over $25.

visit, walk the streets, talk to some people. good luck!

I'm going to guess that the trains moves so slow at that time that it would be faster just to take a cab. The E train becomes local after midnight as I could remember and can be upwards of 75 minutes just to go from Midtown to Forest Hills because of all the additional stops. And this is if there is no track work being done. And I cannot forget all of the characters that ride the E train at that time.

not the safety, just the fact that it can take up to 2 hrs sometimes! have you ever ridden the subways at night? some trains run once every 30 minutes, then you transfer bc of track work, then you find out the train isnt running past a certain stop bc of night time service. then there's the drunk homeless guy puking and yelling at you, a group of teens staring at your wife, and all you wanna do is go to bed. no way am i gonna take a subway from south of houston to eastern queens. that's a long miserable ride at night.

The F runs express at Night. You can pick it up along 6th Ave line. Transfer at Roosevelt Ave or 71st Ave depending on what your local stop is.
