Judging by the fact that NYC consistently and overwhelmingly votes Democrat, you are wrong. Progressives are statistically the majority in NYC.

Exactly. That's why NYC needs more conservative/republican representives to balance this gs out and weaken the democrat stronghold on NYC.

Believe me, ANYONE equating Democrat with "Progressive Left" has not been paying attention since Lyndon Johnson left the White House.

Democrat is "status quo" and Republican is "status quo 1870." And CONSERVATIVE is "status quo before the Renaissance."

Just like not all republicans are social conservatives or small government liberterians, not all democrats are "progressive" or socially liberal. NY has a strong mainstream democrat machine, but I wouldnt say there is a very active political left compared to SF or Portland, OR.

Some people don't understand what you mean when you describe yourself as "Progressive Left" because the term is not clear. An accurate description would be radical Left.
There are many of you in NYC but you do not predominate. Thank goodness.

Not anymore. The last of the old working class Brooklyn conservatives died, or left, sometime in the early to mid 1990's.

The only conservative borough left is Richmond (Staten Island) - though, like most of America, they might be more neoconservative, than they are conservative.
