GOLewin is on a distinguished road
Default Southern CT or Putnam County

Hi Guys,

I am 30 yrs old, and have finally decided to take the big step and move out of my parents nest. I am looking to find a nice and affordable 2 bedroom condo / towhouse. I know the southern Westchester market is pretty expensive so I have given up the search there, but I work in Yonkers so I am willing to commute a bit (up to an hour) if it means more bang for my buck. I was browsing the site, and I was wondering if you guys had any insight on some really nice condos or townhouses just outside of Westchester like perhaps Putnam County, NY or Fairfield County, CT that are in decent neighborhoods with a decent amount of amenities, and close to transportation (but I do drive so I can sacrifice that if I can drive to the train station).

A lil background about me:

I am an African-American earning about 75k a yr, and I am looking for a nice modern 2 bedroom condo with a max price of about 300k….

Does this seem feasible?

Where do you suggest I gear my search towards?

Or even if you know some really nice Co-Ops I would consider it, but my fear is that it doesnt build the equity that a Condo or townhouse might ... also correct me if i am wrong on that too... thanks!
