It's a tough job and it's not well paid IMO.
Basicaly ES's interview, collect information from welfare applicatants, and make eligibility decisions based on that.
It's a stressful job because you deal with people in dire economic situations, so you have to be very patient and empathic. The turnover for that job is very high due to the low compensation and stressful environment. I know a few girls/guys who work as ES and they tell me they can't wait to get the hell out.
Having that in mind, and if you don't currently have a job, this might be a good stepping stone to get into HRA and from there apply internaly for other agency jobs that pay more and have a more appealing work environments.
