Hey does anyone know of any 1 bedroom apartments for rent around NYC? Brooklyn, Manhattan or Queens would be fine mainly Brooklyn though, looking to pay no more than $1000 a month for rent hoping for less.....and in a decent area. Trying to move before or in the month of March. Oh and I'm from NYC so I'm familiar with the areas.

That's a tough call for that amount in rent.

Maybe Sheepshead Bay, Flushing, Briarwood, Ridgewood. Those are the areas that first popped in my head.

Requirements;

1) 1br apt
2) rent less than 1k
3) decent area

That's gonna be a very, and I mean VERY tough find. Not impossible but it won't be easy either.

Mostly likely you'll have to make some trade-offs. So instead of a 1Br you're gonna have to settle for a studio and you can still achive 2) and 3)
Also with that budget you'll have to limit your search to places that are far from Manhattan or far from a subway station.

Have you considered renting with a roommate?

You might be able to find a basement one bedroom apt. for that amount in Jackson Heights, Queens. Otherwise, you will have to settle for a studio apt. in an area like Rego Park, Queens (which can be quite close to a subway station).
