Its easy to get fat as a cop. Weird or long hours, lots of eating at odd hours, and if they work a nabe long enough they get friendly with many of the restaurants and they give them bigger portions or discounts...

LOL It's not just the physical test, I hope you know that.

You will have to do a lot of physical activity during the 6 months in the academy, like jogging in place while holding your 40lb gear bag over your head.

So if you're out of shape now, I suggest you start working out.

Also you're on probation the first 2 years you're on the force. So to that chick who asked if you can fix her ticket, no you can't. They are seriously cracking down on that practice, also. I find it funny their probation is longer than a federal government job, which is only 1 year.

Some 1811 jobs have 2 year probation periods.

Thanks. I was watching this video yesterday. It doesn't seem that hard, except for the fence part. I never jumped a fence like that before so it might be a little difficult for me.

It's easy, I did it with no practice when I was running from police back in the day.

What is the best way to approach the fence? I am a righty so I am guessing start with your left foot and then pull up with your arms?

You should probably start with the right foot like in the vid. That's how I did it. Unless you are way out of shape, shouldn't be a problem.
