What is so stupid about my comment? I challenge you to make your case. Our President has NEVER worked in private industry. He knows nothing about goal oriented work, unless as a goal you count spending government money.

Don't play the trivializing game because I can go back to pointing out that you're a PRE-TRANSPLANT who likes to tell REAL NY'ERS that he knows more about their city than they do. Remember that little gem smart aleck?

Why should I bother, are you going to listen? Of course not, no one is changing anyone's opinion. So just keep beating your chest. Oh and I could care less what one random new yorker thinks of me...there are 8 million people here after all...you could be just another random guy I bumped into on the sidewalk.

You're gonna do wonderfully here. Hey, at least you won't be going against the transplant status quo of hating us natives!

I do find it interesting that you snapped so quickly when Obama was attacked. Sore point? You've surely read my other posts which made you realize that you cannot use the typical lefty-responses on me, so you're probably frustrated. Sorry pre-transplant Portlander that I can't make it easy for you. At least you have all that awesome west coast beer to enjoy until you make your big move out here to the transplant promised land, right?

And PS, I actually would have liked to hear you explain why my comment against Obama was the stupidest thing you've ever seen on a forum. I'm fairly certain from the response it illicited from you that your retort would not have been adequate, which is why you didn't even attempt to make one.

Did you know not a single person in nyc stopped me on the street to tell me what your response was.....I don't think new yorkers even care what you have to say.

And no sore points, just don't really care cause you aren't changing you opinions and I am not changing mine, I am right, aren't I?

That's an even weaker response. Debates aren't about changing someone else's beliefs. None of us should be so smug as to believe we can change another person. Debates are about exchanging ideas. Flippant responses such as yours are typically employed when one has nothing to say.

Haha, this isn't a debate, if you look at the past pages it is just circles. Aww, you hurt my feelings, haha! I "have nothing to say" cause you think everything I have to say is just "lefty talking" and you don't listen to that....so maybe the problem lies with you not listening....but then again, I bet you don't care to listen to opinions you dont agree with, therefore all we are doing is running around in circles.

So I ask you, what do you hope to accomplish with all this?

Airborneguy is actually one of the more level headed guys on this forum. He really doesn't seem to take sides or go with "teams". It seems to me that you're jumping the gun here, pal.

I think you should take that tinfoil hat off! The U.S. government spends 14% of its total budget on the military. Your sources that said 25% were not looking at total U.S. spending.

Either way, however, it's still not enough to allow cutting it to make a significant dent in our spending problem. Assuming your 25% figure was correct, cutting the military by 75% - an unthinkable number - would reduce total spending by a mere six percent...

I think it's pretty obvious that we need to look at more than military spending...

Maybe so, but what kind of debate does he even want to have? What does he hope to accomplish?
