Crossroads Plaza is a 530,000 square foot affordable mixed-use housing complex in the Bronx comprised of two affordable middle income private-ownership residential buildings and one rental building together with 40,000 square foot of retail stores and a 20,000 square foot school.

The sale prices for the 2 co-op/condo buildings have not been established, however the 1 rental building is as follows:

Income ranges from $32K - $80K
1 bedroom rents from $800-$1,100
2 bedroom rents from $1,000 - $1,400

The 2 pics are impressive and look more like a Manhattan development with lots of glass and a very modern look/feel. Go Bronx!

There is a long list of new developments and major redevelopments happening across the Southern Bronx, targeting the middle class. For those who believe change isn't occurring, well, it is happening right before your eyes.

What part of park avenue in mott haven this project is being built. Along park avenue is just metronome north railriload tracks but I'm sure they can develop and build over rail road tracks especially around the mott haven junction.

It is not Park Ave, remember, it is the second picture on the right, NOT the first. You are looking at the wrong development. It is titled the "Crossroads" and it is being developed on E149th between Southern Blvd and Union Ave where there is currently an abandoned gas station and behind that a large triangular vacant lot. It is across the street from the 6 train E149th St station in the very Northeastern corner of Mott Haven.

I thought all these new developments are prone to be rife with issues and growing pains? Why endorse them?

NooYowkur, every new development is prone to issues and problems, which has nothing to do with any particular development. That's like saying Subarus are prone to problems, so don't buy ANY cars from anyone? And that is essentially what you are saying: New construction has problems, therefore don't move into any. What buildings don't have problems?

These new developments are a very positive addition to the community, but they are not perfect..but what is? What you are saying is unless something is perfect, it should be shunned? Don't be silly. It takes time to work out the kinks with new construction, so those moving into them should understand that, and it takes time for tenants and landlords to organize to address and correct problems.

I am endorsing new developments targeted to middle income residents, investments in the community, and increases in the quality of life and amenities for the area, of which these types of developments are helping to facilitate.

Heck yeah! I haven't gotten any eggs yet though. Did you know that the chickens are available for use in aerating your yard? Apparently their scratching and light digging is good for soil/grass, their droppings are a natural fertilizer, and they feast on bugs/insects. I am bringing a couple by next weekend to help with early spring yard work!

You can go to Brook Park and ask to have them in your yard for a few hours.
