Does anyone have any idea if there is likely to be available non-metered street parking in Chelsea on Saturday morning, assuming an arrival time of 8:30 a.m.? I need to be in the area and I'm trying to figure out whether it makes sense to drive.

I would imagine that it would be possible, but far west areas of Chelsea, closer to the river, so you may have a hike to your destination. You can find inexpensive parking nearby as well, at one of Icon's lots as weekend coupons can be $10-12 for parking for 12 hours. I'd have a coupon as a backup, just in case you cannot find a street spot, so you don't have to pay the daily rate.

Thanks, I'll drive and try to get in early. I don't object to a bit of a walk to my destination. I would take the LIRR, but I don't want to deal with raucous and drunken parade-goers on the return trip!

Stay away from green vomit: avoid the PATH train.
