I smelled it. Alot. And no, that isnt an exaggeration. It is what I smelled, everyday at SOME point in the day, for 2 weeks.
YOU may be used to the smell of pee in the street mixed in with the other odors, but I was not and could detect them.

P.S

I am glad I will *never* live in NYC. The rest of New York I might give a shot, but NOT in the city. Ick.

I've been around the country a good bit. I've literally never heard one person say this.

I totally agree with you. Especially on the schools part.
I don't find it necessary to bombard seven year old children with tons of PSATs and other hours-long tests. There's a 50% graduation rate as I saw in another post which I never knew of. They also raise the school taxes drastically claiming they "believe in kids' education and future" when that's really not doing anything.
Especially the Catholic schools. They focus on too much such as discipline and money instead of the education and the teachers are of poor quality.

People say it all the time, usually referring to some of the colleges we have or schools such as Stuy, Bronx High School of Science etc. However, most of the schools in NYC [particularly the high schools] are awful. Some of the worst in the whole country, In fact, I think only Camden and Detroit beat us in drop out rates.

NYC isn't even close when it comes to worst schools in the country. LAUSD must be up there. Philadelphia, DC, and Chicago come to mind. Or pick just about any district in the deep south.

What REALLY grinds my gears is when people (mostly women) who've never been to NYC and when it's their first time going to visit the city, watch movies or shows like Sex In The City or Gossip Girl and then expect to feel like they are in that world or try to live that type of fantasy. UGH!

Or when people see movies about the gritty NYC, and then get disappointed if it doesn't look like the Ninja Turtles or Bronx Warriors movies. UGH!
