Well past 1 am and the lowlifes in the 'hood are STILL making that sh*t noise! God, I hate Inwood sometimes! How effing selfish do you have to be to make this constant noise! We've called the cops 4 times already. HATE. And eff the police--this is fish in a barrel, easy arrests, and they keep whining they don't have enough manpower.

Tell me about it, tell me about it. If you think Inwood is bad, come to 241st Wakefield, its UNRULY. Every year I make it a point to be far and away from my hood on the 4th of July. Right now I am in Vermont, so I am amazingly happy that I wasn't in that hood (I don't even call that place my home).

Next time, call the local precinct, because 911 will just direct you to 311 and 311 is an absolute joke.

1AM? Pssh, try 5:30 AM down here in Hamilton Heights. And couple that with utter disregard and hostility for the police that showed up early in the night (they stopped coming because the a-holes would start again as soon as they left) as well as for their neighbors (an elderly woman came out into the street to tell the hooligans to stop, and they loudly responded by telling her to suck their d***ks).

I LOATHE July 4th in my part of town.

That is why i am moving out of Wash Heights. I live in Harlem and Wash Heights (east and west of Bway). I am trying to move to the UWS, UES or Hoboken area. I don't care if i have to pay a little more to live with civilized people.

At the same time ... these areas will change TREMENDOUSLY in the very near future.
The decent people are completely fed up and they are taking action.
Moreover, you will paying a lot, not a little, more. The increases are exponential based directly on the distance provided from ghetto culture.

I once saw a dude shooting his two Uzi's towards the sky a couple of years back on the 4th.

I see the potential in these areas but it will take a LONG time for the change to happen. Maybe when all those buildings become landmarks you will see the change.

A group of degenerates where headed up Amsterdam (I'm in Hamilton Heights) shooting roman candles in the middle of the street blocking traffic. Add to to that the incessant mortar explosions until 4am. And the police do nothing!
As much as I don't want to see it happen, don't they know that trees are flammable, roof tops may have tar that is flammable or the mortars could fall over and shoot fireworks into someone's apartment!
Do the parent's not consider this when buying them for their teenagers! And the adults that are shooting them off have a flagrant disregard for everyone within range of the explosions (not to mention mortars are illegal!)
I'm all for having fun on the 4th, but there are ways to do it without bothering other people!
