So i'll be moving to NYC with my girlfriend, and we're bring everything that we need to furnish the apartment in a uhaul.
and just to throw it out there...
and there is no way that we are not getting a uhaul because we are bring our bed that we spent over 3 hours deciding what one to buy and we are in love with it and won't get rid of it.
For anyone that has moved to nyc and brought a uhaul, how did you go about it?
i know street parking isn't exactly easy to come by and parking a uhaul isn't going to be that easy either. do you just have someone drive around in circles and park in front of the building for a second and have people grab stuff then drive around the block and keep doing it over and over, or just park in front of it and throw on the hazards and keep someone in the truck incase you get told to move?
I know i can just go to ikea in brooklyn and have everything delivered, but if i'm paying for delivery, why not just throw it all in my uhaul that i'll be paying for as it is.
we don't have an apartment picked out yet because we won't be moving until june, but we are looking at murray hill and gramercy park if that helps at all.
