Default Occupy Wall Street massing in Union Square

Just went by. Very impressive gathering. Hundreds of people, all ages. Lots of signs: Burn the Banks, Regulate Banks Not Vaginas, and (unfortunately) Workers of the Worle Unite - Socialism is the Only Solution. Some separate contingents, like a union contingent and an NYU contingent. There's an empty barracaded area that has me wondering if it's for cops to stuff people into. Tons of cops standing around, and a dozen more just buzzed up on motorcycles.

The Post, sounding like a RW fascist rag, termed them "bums." I had half a mind to run home and get my camera, and a quarter of a mind to join them.

Everyone needs to be "bothered" or rather woken up to what is really happening..specifically the 99%. I am glad you are wasting your energy "smh" at those who are doing what they can to improve your lot in life, and your future children's lot in life. Is this movement perfect? NO..what is? Do they make mistakes? YES..they are human remember? Are they trying to help right the ship for everyone? YES.

Protests, disruptions, and anarchy are needed to impact change in this country..or have you been asleep for the past 150 years? if it weren't for these tactics, blacks would still be slaves, women would be 3rd class citizens/can't vote, segregation would be alive and strong, and on and on.

But hey....keep criticizing and "smh"...clearly protestors should abide by all rules and laws, get their special permits, and only protest so long as nobody is inconvenienced. Cuz really that's how you get change in this country....or any country for that matter.

umm, you know we wouldn't be a country if it wasn't for violent protesting. If you look at a number of changes that have happened in history, protests, riots, and revolutions/civil wars is where many of them came from, which all of those things disrupt those that it is there to effect.

You are more than welcome to disagree with anyone, but history is proof that protests are apart of change. Whether this movement will work or not, only a historian looking back will be able to answer that question for us.

Did they come up with any real solutions to solving our financial problems?

No? I think I'll pass.
