curious, are cheap flip phones such as my Verizon LG Accolade (cost me about $25) in high demand with thieves as are the more elaborate phones? if a thief saw my phone plugged into my car's outlet would they be interested? if i was chatting on my flip phone would that pose a danger, would thieves be interested or is it the expensive phones they want?
what about a bottom of the line portable CD player like an RCA that i paid $50 for? how about a digital camera?
I never keep electronics in my car anyway nor do i ever flash them but i still am curious
Everything is in demand if it can be exchanged for cash. Carrier criminals go for specific items. Bums will go for anything. Don't be too paranoid over it though
Given the risk vs. potential reward for the deed of the phone theft, a criminal should go for the highest payout possible when selecting a theft target. That's not to say that a flip phone is immune to theft, but an iPhone or certain Androids would be more attractive theft targets with a higher payout. One of my phones is a flip phone that I tend to use when I am walking on the street, rather than my iPhone, though I would not have objected if someone had wanted to steal the Andriod that was just replaced by the iPhone.

Given the choice, a would be thief would obviously go for the expensive phone then a regular flip phone since they can get more cash for it. That's not to say your immune to somebody taking yours since I guess it can be hard to tell exactly the make/model of a phone held up to someones ear and there can be some really desperate (and somewhat crazy) people out there.
you paid 50 dollars for a portable cd player? please tell me this was 10 years ago
Pretty sure she meant portable DVD player. I don't even think you can buy portable CD players anymore.
But to answer your question, yes of course more expensive things will present more of a target. If some bum is desperate though, he'll smash your window for your half empty pack of tic tacs.
My EZ Pass was stolen from my car. I know it wasn't ever used by anyone because I checked the account before I reported it stolen. I am not sure what the point was in stealing it (is it even worth any money?) but someone did steal it. So even next-to-worthless things are prone to theft if the thief thinks they are worth stealing.
