Default What are those 2 tall structures on the right?

http://online.wsj.com/article/SB1000...7448.html#%2F4

i originally put this in the Connecticut forum.
this pic is absolutely breathtaking. are those 2 structures on the right in the pic part of Co-op City or are they water tanks/towers farther up the sound? i am guessing they are Co-op City since there is also a view of a bunch of what appears to be multiple tops of apartment houses right in back of them.

if this is indeed Co-op City, which is give or take 25 highway miles from this point (Noroton/Rowayton), how is it that those 2 towers appear so close up? are they actually closer than 25 highway miles since we are just looking straight down the sound?

and how is it that Manhattan skyline, which is actually 10-15 miles southwest of Co-op City, actually appears southeast of Co-op City(if those towers are it)?

this is absolutely amazing!!

You have to copy the entire link. Go back to the original post, right click the link, and "copy URL".

You copied the abbreviated post display text, which is why it didn't work.

Because Darien is further east than both the Bronx and Manhattan. If you were looking directly south from say White Plains, it wouldn't be the case.

The house is nice but give me a penthouse any day.

stylo thanks for bring a working link.

so would you all say those 2 towers on the right are co-op city(and you can see those tiny little rooftops just to the right of them)?

or are they New Rochelle, Stamford or maybe some apartment complex further up the sound?

Those 2 on the right do not look like they're from Co-Op City.

I think they're near Stamford. I could see towers that looked like that from Huntington / Lloyd's Harbor and Stamford is the closest city across the Sound.

Towards New Rochelle from Greenwich Point, CT | Flickr - Photo Sharing!

you could be right, but look at this shot from Greenwich. over to the left in between the trees opening you can see the Co-op City towers if you look closely

I drove over the Whitestone Bridge this morning. Co-Op is very clear, and I saw something that like those two towers close to Co-Op City but definitely separated. Was to the right.

I'm thinking New Rochelle is more likely, and Stamford doesn't makes sense from your last link.
