Yawn...if you haven't been a white boy living in Fordham, that's fine. My b/f is, and yes, he is very ballzy. This is a cakewalk to him, believe me. And I refuse to be scared by the "diversity" that so many claim to want so badly--but not badly enough to help it happen. Most just want an all white enclave to call their very own. Sorry all...

Yawn right back at u. i was born on anthony ave and lived on uni ave/192nd, went to talentine hs, and im milk white.
being white and living in fordham is NOT a good idea. sorry but ur clueless if u think otherwise. you can do it, but like i said you need big ballz and you should EXPECT something to go down at some point. i was stabbed by st james park, plenTy of fights, etc etc and back then, when i lived there, there were actually *some* whites that lived in uni heights/kingsbridge (alot more then now). i couldnt imagine any white boy living there today. alot of bullshyt goes on in those areas and if you're white, you stick out like a sore thumb.

Not my experience over the past 9 years at all. Don't hang too much at St. James Park., though my b/f used to use the gym sometimes (kinda Rikers feel to it, so that's history). Don't get into fights. Very few people give a rat's ___ what damn color we are, or if they do, they keep it to themselves.
You were born there when? At the height of the crack era?
As a female, don't need the testosterone rush of proving myself. My b/f has gone through much "worse" but he's still here. He doesn't let anyone give him any ----but if someone calls him whitey he may turn around and look but unless the guy touches him it's just an annoyance. A lot depends on your attitude and behavior sometimes. I show respect, I get respect without one-upping anyone or fighting anyone. I never came here with the attitude that everyone was my enemy, and guess what?......????

My friend trains MMA with dude who grew up in belmont who's 1/2 puetro rican & 1/2 italian but looks totally white.
I wonder if that has anything to do with him being a professional fighter with 20+ fights under his belt?

Yeah which is why he moved out of there as soon as could. All too often the struggle doesn't lift you up, it pulls you down. He literally fought his way out of there. Suprisingly he doesn't go back to visit. If you have kids I'm sure you'll get the **** out of the area as soon as the constant fighting and bullying begin in jr high.

What is so hard to understand--live and let live--what are you, like, worried or something? Nah, didn't think so...
People, what's the damn problem? Protect the sacred white race from the scourge of the colored folk? So don't live there. What point are you trying to score here?
If this forum is any indication, NY'ers appear to be just as racist as anyone in the deep south-- if not more.

racism works both ways. Theres plenty of places where the color of skin won't get you jumped. The Bronx is not one of them.

People here are homeowners and cooperators, and take great pride in their property, and it is indeed beautiful. No ghetto mentality--in fact it's very anti-ghetto (middle class, mostly middle aged and older, black).

Yeah, I know where you live. The difference between you and somebody else wanting to move in Uni Height/Fordham is exactly what you said. Where you live, they have 24 hour security. I think I've seen gates there too. Nobody is gonna mug you, or do anything to you there because it's so protected and surveyed. I live in a 5 story building tenement. Im sorrounded by building tenements. Some of the buildings there have surveillance, but nobody surveys the block. My point of view, as someone who at times chills on the block, and who lives in the hood is different from you, who is protected when you get into the complex. Other people wont be as fortunate as you, to live where you live in such a rough area. Just this past weekend, my block was on lockdown with cops all over the place because of a shoot out and that same day I went to the chinese store and witnessed a drug deal right in front of me. So when you recommend an area to a person, I worry about what you're telling that person because what you're telling them is not what there going to find.
Though I do admire you and GUYWITHACAUSE for your positive attitudes. We need more of that these days
