All of upper Manhattan is open to eventual gentrification. If you can get in now at a relatively low price I see no reason why not. Harlem will continue to gentrify relatively slowly. The 2nd avenue line once it is complete will greatly accelerate the process. Wash Heights will then be squeezed from the bottom and top (Inwood). Dominicans are stagnant, and they didn't buy enough so they are gonna be easily displaced. Before anyone gets offended, I am of Dominican descent btw...
