To all of you waiting be advise that you have a 2-2.5 year wait. I took my exam in 6/10 and 1 PP just started calling off my exam at the start of April. So in the meantime just get yourselves in shape, get your paper work in order bc once you start the process everything in your life will be revealed. I already work for NYPD but now I'm looking for a change and I'm telling you now thousands of people that go thru the hiring process dont make it into the academy bc either they fail the oral psych or the fail out in the background investigation. This new Chief is extremely strict with candidates credit. So if your credit isnt looking good that will be a major problem. Your driving record has to be up to par as well. If you live in a household with someone that has had a run in with the law they are going to hold that against you as well. It may not seem fair but thats the way it is. Remember School Safety Agents have what they call "peace officer status" meaning as a SSA you can make arrest so before they hire anyone they have to dig very deep into your background. They coduct the same exact investigation as they do for potential PO candidates. Also if you have any lawsuits they cannot hire you until your lawasuit as been resolved. There are soooooo many things that can be a problem so for those waiting especially those that have recently took the test use this 2 yr wait to get things in order. Once you do begin the process DO NOT and I repeat DO NOT lie about anything bc they will find out no matter how long ago it may have been. I you lie about something and it comes out you are automatically disqualified. Best of luck to you all.

I have a question regarding the official transcripts from the colleges. They will not send me them because the person can't hold on to the transcripts. The school has to send them out to the place that it has to go. What do I do now? Send it to my investigator?

I believe that if you do receive them you have to send them to your investigator UNOPENED or they cannot accept them. If the school refuses to give them to you just get the address to APD and have the school mail it there and make sure they put ATTN: to whatever your investigaots name is. Then notify them that they wil be coming via mail.
