Just got back from Stuyvesant Ave near the Utica station. I've seen a noticeable amount of the yuppy/hipster presence in that particular surrounding. It is what it is... That's knee deep in the Bed-Stuy.

I agree. I see it even further uptown where I live. I think it is the affordable apartments and the easy commute downtown that is drawing the newer residents.

The farthest uptown that I seen hipsters is near Yankee Stadium and Washington Heights. I can't never forget when I saw two hipster chicks riding fixies on 138 st.

Is this all that surprising? They are human beings after all, no matter how much you try to dehumanize them or blame them for "the destruction of NYC."
That's interesting actually!

If they were just another 'ethnic group', would that make people more tolerable of them?

I hate hipsters as much as anyone, but I'm wary of the construction "blah blah THE (fill in blank with race, class, etc under discussion"). Too reminscent of country club bar talk of red faced ex frat boy golfers.

Why would a Fordham student by all the way down by 138th Street? I mean, it's possible, but they could just as easily be CCNY students.
