Hi there:
I used to live in mid-town, there was a grocery store around the corner carries this sweet, almost dessert-like cheese which I think is English made, it's a white-color cheese with figs and honey added. Later I moved out of that area and recently found out that store is closed which disappoint me since that was the only place I could find that type of cheese. Anyone saw this cheese sold in the city?
Cheers!

Check out Zabar's--they have a wide selection of cheeses, including English ones.

Is it white Stilton with apricot? I would also try Lamazou on 3rd Avenue and/or Dean & Delcua, in addition to Zabar's.

Can't believe no one mentioned Murray's, which is the premier cheese place in town.
