well how would you know some people might some people dont who knows .
I doubt there is a doctor out there telling people they NEED to be drinking sodas....unless that doctor works for Coca-Cola or something, that is just laughable.

ATX...I understand that you personally may be able to take care of your own healthcare. What about those who cannot? Should we just have the government just take care of roads, and those who can't afford healthcare simply die in the streets? We are perfectly capable of returning to a third world condition, where people die in the streets, have millions who can't afford shelter simply living in the streets, tens of millions of illiterates because government doesn't provide education, and massive plagues because tens of millions don't get innoculations.
It's not the government's job right! Indeed...so if you want to live like India..we can do that. Something tells me you don't. And that's the difference between the idealized rhetoric you spew, and the actual reality of life.
You might as well apply this argument to any other necessity in life...If the government doesn't provide free food to all, people will starve. If the government doesn't give everyone free housing, people will all live in the streets.
The fact that healthcare is individual responsibility is just the motivation for individuals to take care of their bodies as they have an individual financial investment in being healthy.
Liberal economics forever tries to eliminate failure from the system...the risk of failure however is exactly what makes an economy excel. Societies that strive to eliminate failure end up weak and mediocre. Failure, albeit unpleasant to those who experience it, is essential to the system.
By the way your use of India as an example is bizarre as India in fact has a universal heath care system.
available, please quit arguing with urban. You know what he is so why keep wasting your time. He's not the relevant and he wants to drive fast with 16 oz. diet sodas.

Clearly you haven't been reading the posts cause it would be water I would prefer to drink, diet soda is for people who are lying to themselves about what they drink.
Who doesn't want to drive fast, why is the government taking away our freedom to drive as fast as we want.

Oh urban.....what are we going to do with you? Clearly you're wired way too tight for NYC. You couldn't tell I was messing with you sarcastically in that last sentence.
