Paris, France. I lived there in college and worked there - my co workers there had no trouble discussing who made what..In fact, some resumes specifically stated their salary when applying for positions in other countries.
You ain't in Paris {where ever that is} anymore.
It's quite offensive when somebody casually asks what I make.
Why? Are you embarrassed about your paycheck? Like I said, in France and England - discussing salary openly is not taboo. Only in America is it considered "offensive".
They shouldnt allow viewing individual salaries on employees. What an invasion of privacy!!!
I don't think it's an invasion of privacy for public employees and I'm a teacher who's salary is available on that sight.Non public employees are a different matter.
The public is paying my salary so they have a right to know what they are paying me.
Looking at that website, the only thing I want to know is: What the hell is a Senior Stationary Engineer and how the hell do I become one?
Stationary engineer is a kind of operating engineer -- they run things like steam boilers, generators, and other heavy equipment. They're "stationary" because they deal with stuff that doesn't move, unlike e.g. a railroad engineer.
I don't know how you become one, but I bet it takes a long time to become "Senior".
Diva is looking for those on the payroll. See Through was a much
easier website to navigate a couple of years ago.
Very annoying example of the "updates" making it less user friendly. Like AOL updates in late 90s. grrrr Calling Nick Burns the Company Computer Guy
