I would like to know the cheapest taxi service from Laguardia Airport to the Upper West Side. I'm looking in the price range of $25-$35 dollars. Thanks!!
Any yellow cab (metered cab) should be able to get you there for that price. Before you get in the cab at La Guardia, make sure the driver understands English and knows the way to your destination. Do not allow the driver to talk on the phone while driving; it's a serious violation. Don't forget to tip for good service.
That zip you supplied is Upper East side BTW. Go to the Taxi stand and you'll be fine (just watch to make sure he stays on 278 and crosses the RFK Bridge).
yes yellow cabs have a set rate for airports and its more than the range you are asking. call a few different car services and see what they quote you.. also depending on the time of the day it may be more or less..
If you're just 1 or 2 people you might consider a shared van like Supershuttle or Airlink--you can calculate the rates on their websites, but for 1 person it looks like you'd pay $15 or 16 and a 2nd passenger would be an additional $11 or 12. The disadvantage would be that you might have several stops before you get to your destination.
