"""As if the New York City Police Department weren’t already in enough legal trouble, three officers are accusing three supervisors of an elite anti-gun unit of blatant racism.
A retired NYPD black detective and two active black detectives said under oath that their supervisors handled white suspects with kid gloves, while treating blacks like “animals” deserving of a bullet to the head, according to the New York Daily News. The detectives made their sworn statements as part of an employment discrimination lawsuit filed by one of them in Brooklyn Federal Court. The lawsuit, filed by Detective Debra Lawson, alleges that minority-group members in the unit were passed over for good assignments and career advancement.
The Daily News reported the officers’ accusations against two of their supervisors: Lt. Frank Scheppi, 55 and Capt. James Flynn, 64.
The paper reports:
Scheppi used the N-word to address black suspects, while Flynn a longtime police officer and 64 year old Vietnam combat Marine veteran, considered the unit’s minority-group targets almost subhuman, the depositions indicate.
“Capt. Flynn would tell the field team . . . ‘These people are f—–g animals and will be tamed accordingly. You make sure if you have to shoot, you shoot them in the head. That way there’s one story,’ ” said the retired detective."""
I find it a bit scary that New York residents are yawning about the way the protestors are treated and "snore" at this kind of behavior from their policemen. New Yorkers have been "tamed"?

Either that, or we've already asked ourselves this question: can you imagine a city of eight million people without a police force?
Fred the better question is: Can you imagine a city of 8 million people without a violent, occupying force? What we have is not a police force, but a brutal regime which subjugates and exploits the population with impunity. How much better would communities be without this group of thugs terrorizing citizens, treating communities like subhumans, and criminalizing entire generations again and again?
There is no doubt the NYPD's culture is all about maintaining themselves in power, and crushing anyone that dares go against them. The dysfunctional culture is from the top down, and the entire system is corrupt, and ultimately corrupts the many good police officers who don't 'play by the rules.' I recommend everyone to stay away from police officers, they are not your friends, they do not care about you, and only seek to take care of themselves.
Another oh boo hoo, "the cops are mean to me because I look like a dirtbag but Im just a really harmless pot smoking messenger who wears his pants down below his belt" thread
boo hoo
or is this another, "I black and whitey is always agan' me" thread
Sobro...your dislike of the police is not based in any fact other than you had a domineering mother and a wimpy father and can't stand any authority figure.
Lol..you have me pegged! We should expect and demand better from our police force. I am hoping whoever is voted as Mayor replaces Ray Kelly. The NYPD is in desperate need of new leadership and strategies to take it to the next level.
