I suppose it's safe, but if you're new to NYC, why not take the shuttle bus? It may cost slightly more, but you won't have to worry about changing, won't have to drag your luggage up/down stairs, and you'll see more.

125th & Grand Central are both ADA-accessable, which means they have elevators (though there's nothing saying those elevators will necessarily be working).

I'm just being cheap, this was supposed to be a cheap vacation and then I had to book 2 nights hotel unexpectedly, so just cutting costs where I can.

Same stops as the M60. at LGA Please note that the transfer to the 7 train may not be ADA accessible which means you'll have to carry your luggage and child up some stairs.

BTW NYC77 just because I'm a tourist doesn't mean I'm an idiot or racist as you've implied. Just a concerned mom who wants to get into the city quickly and safely and spend my tourist bucks.

You can also transfer to the N or Q train at Astoria Boulevard from the M60 bus. That's the next stop out of the terminal--so you'll probably be able to get a seat on the train. And it won't take much more time from there to midtown as it would from 125th Street.
