Never heard of them. Sounds like a bad investment, no pun intended. What's their website? Alot of these "schools" are nothing more than traps for goobers and those whom they perceive as goobers to be taken advantage of.

You might as well invest in the proper body, meaning the entity with the highest authority: FINRA

Quote:
FINRA, in conjunction with other self-regulatory organizations and the Securities Industry/Regulatory Council on Continuing Education, administers the continuing education program for the securities industry. Continuing education consists of two mandatory programs: a Regulatory Element and a Firm Element. (See FINRA Rule 1250).

The Regulatory Element requires all registered individuals to complete a computer-based training program within 120 days of the second anniversary of their registration approval dates and every three years thereafter. The program focuses on compliance, regulatory, ethical and sales practice standards. Its content is derived from industry rules and regulations, as well as widely accepted standards and practices within the industry. Regulatory Element Programs have been developed for registered supervisors/principals (S201), Series 6 Investment Company Products/Variable Contracts Representatives (S106), and the General Program (S101) for Series 7 registrants and individuals in other registration categories not covered by the other programs.

[...]

FINRA touches virtually every aspect of the securities business—from registering and educating industry participants to examining securities firms; writing rules; enforcing those rules and the federal securities laws; informing and educating the investing public; providing trade reporting and other industry utilities; and administering the largest dispute resolution forum for investors and registered firms.
Call them and ask how they might be able to help with your goals. Be sure to tell them your original plan of flying overseas and paying for a school of questionable reputation, etc. You might as well give them or SIFMA (see below) the "school" name and ask if they've heard of them.

For more information about FINRA's educational programs and events in the U.S., or to register, please contact us via email or call (212) 858-4119.
Once upon a time, all the FINRA duties were on the shoulders of SII, but now SII/SIFMA seems to be a different entity. Their site looks friendly these days, so give them a call, fax or email with your questions. (Previously, based on what I can remember, they had a very cold and painfully esoteric website because it wasn't meant for the general public, meaning it was set up to help interface with bulge-bracket investment firms, that is, when SII/SIFMA did all the FINRA stuff, which they no longer seem to be doing.)

Overall, if you're not dealing with FINRA, you're pretty much wasting your time. FYI, I worked in two bulge-bracket investment firms over a span of nearly nine years.

You're welcome. If you're comfortable sharing, kindly update us on what FINRA and SIFMA say on how they can help you meet your goals (What are your goals, anyway?), but especially what they say about the school, since it's the reason you created this thread.

I looked at the school's website and will opine on it: They state that they won't bore students with tons of capital markets theory, yet from what's on their site, theory seems like the meat/bulk of what they offer, for the most part. So it's an odd selling point, IMHO.

You should email the school to get clarity on what tangible, legitimate or useful credential(s) you'll receive, if any, upon completion. If their answer to that is "More knowledge, of course!", then you seriously need to think long and hard on whether this is truly worth your time, energy, airfare, recurring monetary expenses, and possibly your mental health, too.

Excellent advice. I am not an investor but my father is and I ran this past him today while on the phone. He said more than likely you'd be getting ripped off (especially if they are not saying upfront who they are affiliated with). I think the first poster was right, go through FINRA. Especially if you are going to be travelling so far, you want to make sure you are dealing with reputable companies.
