And your black friends never say "that's ghetto" ?

The defensive vibe I'm getting is similar to when some women start talking loudly about how all their friends are guys and women always hate her. The kind of woman who wants to be the exception, who wants the guys to fawn over her, who talks about how all women are catty, overdramatic, etc. Whenever normal women hear this kind of thing, you just tense up inside--no, nobody's jealous of you, but if you're prejudging all women, of course we're going to pick up on that! I see a similar dynamic here--this guy sounds like he wants to be the exception, the lone Good White Guy. Either that or he's had horrific luck in meeting white people! But generally speaking, if you dislike *that* many people within a given racial/gender group, do the math. The common factor is YOU. Maybe you're the problem.

all the negative responses on this thread show the average city data poster is the typical plain white bread. I understand what the OP is talking about too. Im white and have been into hiphop since i was 6. Back in the time when white people didnt listen to rap or dress with any type of hip hop influence. Now ever since all these white people started listening to rap look what happened to it. Hip hop is dead. Regular plain white people are boring and they are whats ruining this city. Walk around the west village on a saturday afternoon and the average white person u see looks ridiculous. I see grown men wearing tighter pants than women and just dressing completely suspect. I took a lot of hate from alot of white people back in the day whether it was family or white kids in middle school who constantly asked me why i wanted to be black. Today i really dont notice much of a problem. As far as job interviews i doubt ull be discriminated against if u talk and dress professionally.

werd to bold
even bigger werd to underline
What's crazy though, black people wear stupid tight pants too. I think it started with New Boyz, and then homo rappers like Lil Wayne picked up on it thus the masses.

And your comment shows the average city data poster is also typical ghetto kool-aid. Regular white folks are whats ruining the city? Really? Average white person in the village is ridiculous?
Now let's talk about the average ghetto kool-aid person in NYC. What do I see when I walk around Harlem are the destitute hood rats in pants that are 10x too big down to their knees, with dirty drawers showing and 3x too large t-shirts...and that's just the girls. What I also see are the colored folks selling drugs to their own and recruiting them for suicide missions in the drug trade....another generation gone. If you think whites in the village dress "completely suspect", the typical colored person dresses completely pathetic and embarassingly.
Your ignorance is profound and sad, and I hope that when you become an adult, you realize the problems in the world are not due to the "whites walking around the village." They are no more the cause of NYC problems than you and your people are. For every alleged "problem" you see with whites in NYC, I can name 10 which your people cause. Nobody wins at this game...but you do reveal that your ignorance knows no bounds.

IMO,
black culture = rap culture in the same way that Motown was to blacks 40-50 years ago.

Maybe since they started listening to rap, they also started copying their favorite rap artists as well.
