They're housing projects. They've always been 'downhill'.

That particular project had plenty of white residents in the past, not sure now but I'd guess it's still similar.

I've heard a few times that they're considered one of the best NYCHA developments in the city. Leave the snarkiness out of it. You own your house, pat yourself on the back. Not everybody is as fortunate. Geez.

If I would have said anything different you would have had a problem anyway. Hard to forget how the last time I answered a question of yours with a response about Staten Island, it went downhill real fast.
As far as better or worse, I'd say they beat the Berry Homes on Richmond Road, but excluding a few incidents a couple of years back, the Manor Road projects (I don't know the official name), seem to be much better than both. I'd imagine CK has the exact stats if anyone does. The problem is that they are all in the 122 precinct, so it would require some research to figure out which crimes are attached to which development.

That thread is done IMO. The ones you are referring to on Manor Road are Todt Hill Houses. I agree with you with when it comes to the 3 three developments south of the expressway, the Berries are the least desirable.

It is disgusting that residents of staten island pay taxes to support these hoodlums from nyc and the police, parks enforcement, etc that service them. Projects/taxes are part of the "package" in manhattan because residents choose to live in those scyscrapers and be close to their work. But staten island has absolutely nothing to gain by being listed as part of the city. It's not a city and has no place for houses taller than 3stories. If it were a separate town, it wouldve been a much more desirable place to live, like Fort Lee.

The surrounding neighborhood (for all 3) is mostly White and middle-class (though the area by the Todt Hill Houses has a nice-sized Asian population). The projects themselves (all 3 south of the SIE) are roughly 20-30% White or so. I posted the exact percentages in another thread, but I'm too lazy to look them up. Just go to this map, zoom into the specific development, and then calculate it yourself.
I know the Todt Hill Houses have a Black plurality (largest racial group, but not over 50%), and the South Beach/Berry Houses have a Hispanic plurality. The largest ethnic group makes up ~ 40% of the population in each of those developments, so they're pretty diverse.

Manor Road = Todt Hill Houses
And see above for the racial stats. The income stats can be found right here on city-data (but it's for the surrounding area, not just the PJs themselves). As far as crime goes, like you said, they're all in the 122nd precinct, so you can't even tell which crimes happened within the projects vs. the regular residential areas, let alone tie the crime to a specific development.

So I guess those apartments over by Silver Lake Park shouldn't exist either, right?
And Fort Lee has plenty of apartment buildings.

What does it matter whether there is a sizeable "white" population living in these particular housing projects? They are just as poor as everyone else living there, and they are in the projects for the same reasons. Unless the assertion is whites are crime free, model citizens and everyone else is "the real problem."
