I've been on trains in tunnels that have passed by workers working on the tracks next to passing trains. It wasn't going at top speed.

Those would be minor repairs or checks...but Major repairs the line will shut down...

I bet you score higher on the track worker exam then the B/O exam but that they call you first
for B/O. B/O lists move faster then track worker lists. There is a track worker promo exam before
the 3600 exam and that list gets called from first. Good luck.

Fastrack is a completely new way the MTA is doing repair and maintenance work on lines, and its tough to say how long it'll be around. There are often trains moving in the vicinity of track workers, imo.
