It's not an easy job. Heavy lifting working in tunnels that are hot as hell in the summer, bitter cold in the winter, rats everywhere, or working outide in the rain, snow heat & cold or dark of night, live 3rd rail & last but not least speeding train's barreling down on you.
I just signed up for this exam too so I'm gonna be doing the bus operator exam in January and the track worker exam in April which ever position I get called for first I will accept
I bet you score higher on the track worker exam then the B/O exam but that they call you first
for B/O. B/O lists move faster then track worker lists. There is a track worker promo exam before
the 3600 exam and that list gets called from first. Good luck.
Fastrack is a completely new way the MTA is doing repair and maintenance work on lines, and its tough to say how long it'll be around. There are often trains moving in the vicinity of track workers, imo.
Does anyone know how long after your medical exam, and orentation can you start working? For track workers ?
