Just curious why did she choose East River? I've never been in any buildings but walked around them a few times and I personally was not too fond of it. I have family on 2nd Avenue and 108th Street so not too far away, that's how I know the area a little bit.

The Manhattanville Houses will change tremendously in the coming years - Columbia re-building.

But right now they are awful, as are the Grant Houses - we live nearby. On a random Sunday morning there will be several police cars breaking up the latest fight, stabbing, shooting, perpetrated by adolescents. Would not want to live in an environment that fosters that.

I used to hang out there a lot and didn't see any of this....as late as 2006 I used to hang there and all hours of night I used to walk around and never felt in danger....did Grant get really bad in the past few years or something?
