She assured that the blocks around the area where she stayed (can't remember street name) were populated largely by her fellow Ivy League grads. This was marginally comforting to spouse, who still hadn't recovered from the shock of learning where she had been. True about the Ivy League grads?

Some move in for cheap rents I am sure. However they are a small minority in the neighborhood.

The time is now to buy into almost anything halfway decent in NYC because the entire city will be untouchable in the next 10 yrs. Atleast that's what i think. I sorta wish i never left, and had some luck on my side while i was in NY, i would have bought some property.

Still looks like ****. Some people will settle for anything just to live in NYC.

Complete opposite. High crime neighborhood with few amenities. Lack of well stocked supermarkets (limited selection), high priced bodegas with very limited products, nothing much to do in the area at all.

Wrong choice of words. Bushwick is far from a nice ghetto, no such thing. The difference is real estate is trying to push the area, and as a result residents are slowly getting displaced.
