It's Bushwick II apartments, according to the NYCHA website.

Didn't read the entire thread, so I don't know if mention was made of this, but I hear the area is popular with Ive League grads. A relative who was coming to visit a few months ago called and said she'd be grabbing the train from Bushwick, where she'd spent the night. Spouse almost had an attack upon hearing this. She assured that the blocks around the area where she stayed (can't remember street name) were populated largely by her fellow Ivy League grads. This was marginally comforting to spouse, who still hadn't recovered from the shock of learning where she had been. True about the Ivy League grads?

Default crazy

Im from brooklyn, born and raised most of my life. I now live in south florida, but anyway... my uncle used to have a store on broadway in bushwick and i remember walking around certain areas there looked like satans lair. burned down and abandoned buildings, people selling crack all over, etc. Just a few weeks ago, my girls' best friend just moved into there; a single white female and i thought she was outta her mind cuz she was from indiana... but surprisingly, she loved it and still does. Just before i moved here to FL about a month ago, i was surprised on how bushwick is changing. The time is now to buy into almost anything halfway decent in NYC because the entire city will be untouchable in the next 10 yrs. Atleast that's what i think. I sorta wish i never left, and had some luck on my side while i was in NY, i would have bought some property.

You should visit UP FROM FLAMES or BushwickBK.com both give very informative facts and opinions on Bushwick's renaissance.

I apologize I haven't read the entire post, but a quick question. Bushwick - near the L train stop Mytle Wyckoff and Knickerbocker Ave. is it a nice and safe area with sufficient amenities?

it all depends on your perspectives, if you think ghettos are ok, then this is a nicer ghetto

No, it isn't safe. Bushwick might be more built up than it was 20 years ago, but it is still a high crime area.

Some move in for cheap rents I am sure. However they are a small minority in the neighborhood.

Still looks like ****. Some people will settle for anything just to live in NYC.

Complete opposite. High crime neighborhood with few amenities. Lack of well stocked supermarkets (limited selection), high priced bodegas with very limited products, nothing much to do in the area at all.

Wrong choice of words. Bushwick is far from a nice ghetto, no such thing. The difference is real estate is trying to push the area, and as a result residents are slowly getting displaced.

Hustla, I think your statement is dead on...

I couple of years ago I while I was working on Lincoln Place near Franklin Ave I had an old timer black guy tell me, "F*ckin' white folk come movin' in the neighborhood and messing everything up." I could believe what I was hearing on many levels... the reverse racism for one & the fact that one of the worst streets in the 77 Pct was being effected by white people approaching from the western edges of Grand Army Plaza. Go figure.

There is no such thing as 'reverse' racism. Racism is racism.
