Human Resources just started to enforce those who are receiving food stamps that are not disabled, going to school, or caring for elderly or children must receive training, counseling, or training to continue to receive their food stamps. There are other exclusions I can't remember off the top of my head right now. They are also cracking down on those selling their food stamps.

If they don't go to a specified center in order to sign up or prepare to look for job opportunities, this includes preparing a resume if they don't have one, then they are immediately cut off.

Now did I give you something to smile about today?

What happens if they claim or even "prove" they are looking for a job, but they aren't really looking (arrive late or wear hoochie mama clothing to the interview if they get one, or have spelling mistakes all over their applications)? Can they cry about how no one will hire them and then continue to get the benefits?

Good for one part of the country, now if the rest can follow suit! Don't know how effective it will be but it's a start somewhere.

I'm all for it!

Welfare fraud. Penny ante stuff. If you want to save the taxpayers some money make hedge fund managers pay income tax at the same rate as scholteachers and firemen.

I don't know how they'll keep track of those in the process of looking but prior to looking they prepare the recipients by demanding they dress in a professional manner for their 9-5 classes, putting phones on vibrate, attending 120 hours of classes, and testing. They don't allow hanging out in front of the building. Any hours less than the required 120 hours and they are cut off. Dressing like a hoochie mama you are cut off.

They assist those who need resumes or they can get them done somewhere else. If they need clothing, they will also assist.

I tell ya, my building has been really quiet lately.

There are. I will present this though. While it is not fair these types (Not those who really need it) get a free ride, Remember that they will be stuck living on basically minimum and never elevating themselves. Many of us get upset when we are trudging to work in sub-zero temps and other conditions and thinking of them home warm in bed. I sure used to. Then I thought of how I could never do this and have pride of going to a good job that I enjoy for years and contributing to society and will do so as long as i am mobile. I hope many of you do too!

It will always be with us. Not worth a moment of aggravation.
