next time you're on google, do a street view of sutter avenue in east new york. also do rockaway avenue in brownsville, dumont avenue in brownsville, mother gaston boulevard in brownsville, pitkin avenue in east new york. some parts of pitkin avenue look like the 80s still. crack houses and vacant lots.
and as a reference brownsville starts west of pennsylvania avenue, east new york is east of pennsylvania avenue.
another thing: driving through and walking is 2 different things.

Brownsville actually starts from the other side of the L line on Van Sinderen Ave going west.

Murders are generally a most reliable indicator of crime. Other crimes are much more easily influenced by stat manipulation and lack of reporting (numerous factors can cause reporting percentages to vary). BUT, a murder count means nothing if it's not statistically significant. Comparing 4 murders to 3 means nothing. Comparing 60 murders to 90 might mean something. And of course, absolute numbers might not mean anything if an area of 10,000 people is being compared to an area of 100,000 people.

Biggie lived on St. James place. which is a decent block near Washington Avenue. I think Mary J. Blige is from Mount Vernon or Yonkers.

Livonia and New Lots ave is ENY. I think that's under the New Lots ave train station. The three train. I grew up in linden houses on Van siclen and Wortman. Next I moved to Cypress houses where I currently live.

I dont know everything about the Bronx but I would say Top 5 Worst NOW:
1. Brownsville Houses
2. Cypress
3. Tilden
4. Pink
5. Linden
When I was Comin up Park Plaza, Red Hook, Marcy wouldve been on the list. Now they no walk in the park but not like it used to be.
