Well technically, Prodigy from the mobb is actually from Hempstead, moving to the bridge only when he was 9 or 10 I think.
He says it himself on the infamous album. Regardless, the guy is ill.

I don't think they aspire(d) to live in the projects. I believe it's about the fact that they are from the projects, and that their talent is just a fact unto itself.
I guess it's like the entertainer or athlete that comes from a situation of poverty, and thankfully he/she gets a break and is able to capitalize on this talent.

yes, the intersection of livonia and new lots ave is eny, but livonia avenue also runs through brownsville.

I believe Hunts Point, in the Bronx, and South Jamaica are not the greatest areas. I really am not an expert on the subject though.

Yes, but at the same time in the late 70's to 80's the tenements in the Bronx were worse than a 3rd world country.
